BREAKERS DEFEAT THE CATARACTS TO EXTEND THE HERDER

April 13, 2019 Immediate Release Grand Falls-Windsor, NL –The Southern Shore Breakers scored three first period goals after going down one within the first minute of the game and never relinquished the lead after to beat the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts by score of 4-2 in game four of the 2019 Herder Memorial Championship tonight. Blake Dalton, Jeremy Nicholas, Peter Kavanagh and Kyle Tibbo scored for the East Coast champs. Captain Mike Brent and Mike Cole tallied for the Cataracts. Mark Yetman was stellar between the pipes stopping 40 of the 42 shots he faced for the Breakers. A.J. Whiffin suffered his first lost in the series in goal for the Cats. The Cataracts lead the series three games to one and game five is set for tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor. The Herder Memorial Trophy was first presented by Ralph Herder of the Evening Telegram Limited in honor of the hockey playing Herder Family, who founded the Evening Telegram in 1879. The trophy is emblematic of the All Newfoundland Senior Hockey Championship. Tickets go on sale at 12 noon tomorrow for the general public at the Box office.
