CATARACTS ONE WIN AWAY FROM HERDER

April 13, 2019 Immediate Release Grand Falls-Windsor, NL –The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Southern Shore Breakers in the 2019 Herder Memorial Championship after blanking the Breakers 2-0 in Game Three Friday night. Alex Dalley and Andrew Brennan both got their first goals of the series for the Cataracts while A.J. Whiffin stopped all 36 shots he faced to get the shutout. The Cataracts can finish the series in Game 4 scheduled for 7:30 pm Saturday night at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor. If the Breakers extend the series, game five will played 1:30 pm Sunday after in Grand Falls-Windsor. The Herder Memorial Trophy was first presented by Ralph Herder of the Evening Telegram Limited in honor of the hockey playing Herder Family, who founded the Evening Telegram in 1879. The trophy is emblematic of the All Newfoundland Senior Hockey Championship.
